Right now there is a HUGE opportunity in IT and Telephony, the likes of which we last saw 15 years ago…
Way back in 2004, Salesforce CRM went public. As you probably know, they pioneered the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
Their unique per-seat, per-month payment plan was a stark contrast to their what their competitors were offering.
Gone were the headaches and complexity of deployed-on-premise servers, the hefty licensing agreements, and on-site staff to keep everything working correctly — instead Salesforce made the whole world of CRM simple.
- Simple to set up.
- Simple to run.
- Simple to understand the investment required.
- Simple to add or remove users — no need to predict future business requirements years down the line
It took around 5 years before small business owners caught on to the benefits of CRM systems. And as a result, over the last 10 years there’s been an explosion in the uptake of cloud-based CRM systems.
In fact, these days it’s almost unheard of for a business to operate WITHOUT a CRM system — even for a single-person business.
